Integrative medicine, the paradigm-changing care on which Sanctuary Integrative Medicine was founded, took a large step toward becoming mainstream in Washington D.C. last month. The Senate Committee on Health brought in Dr. Weil, Dr. Oz and Dr. Ornish to discuss how integrative medicine can be used to improve the health of our nation. Simultaneously, The Institute of Medicine (generally more traditional in their view of medicine) hosted a three-day summit on integrative medicine as the health of the future.

These are hopefully monumental events that will weave this form of medicine and its belief in health promotion into our health care, rather than methods that simply manage disease. I hope that you take some time to listen to the Summit and understand what this would mean for our country. I will keep you updated and hopefully we can let our representatives know how important and necessary this movement is for America.
